Welcome to the Southwest Texas Junior College Food Services Department 

Our mission is to provide campus food services including both a snack bar and cafeteria in the Matthews Student Center to students, faculty, staff and guests.

Monday - Thursday
6:30 am to 6:00 pm

6:30 am to 2:00 pm

Cafeteria Serving Hours: 

Breakfast - Monday, Wednesday & Friday 7:00 am to 8:00 am; Tuesday & Thursday 7:00 am to 9:00 am
Lunch - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Dinner - 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm 

Snack Bar Hours:

Breakfast - 7:00 am to 10:30 am
Lunch - 11:00 am to 1:00 pm 


The cafeteria accepts cash, checks, most major credit cards, and SWTJC SmartCards. 

SmartCards are issued to students and employees that can be used to check out books at the library, pay for printing, pay fines at the library and pay for food at the cafeteria.

Students who have purchased a meal plan will be provided with fourteen cafeteria meals a week.

Students or employees interested in the card can visit the Library to get the card and load it with money at the Business Office.  While the first card is free, replacement cards cost $25.

On Campus Meeting Catering

The Food Services Department can provide meals for meetings or other on-campus gatherings with notice of at least one week prior to your event.  Please submit your request to Steven Garner, located in the Matthews Student Center or submit via email at
