Attending Commencement
Congratulations on your graduate’s remarkable achievement! Commencement is not only a major event in a graduate’s life but also a celebration and acknowledgement of you – friends and family – who have provided guidance, care, and support to the new graduate. We hope the information on our website will help you have the most enjoyable experience possible on this special day.
General Public Seating
There will be open seating for all guests in the stands. For security purposes all guests will be asked to walk through a metal detector prior to entering the facility.
Services for Disabilities
Limited handicap parking will be reserved and located in front of the main entrance to the Uvalde County Fairplex arena. Decal must be displayed in the vehicle upon arrival. The facility does have designated areas for seating.
Commencement Ceremony Parking
Media and Photos
The college Public Relations staff will be covering the event exclusively during the ceremony and will also broadcast live via Facebook and YouTube (Please visit SWTJC website on graduation day). No other individuals or media personnel will be permitted to enter the main stage area at ground level at any time during or after the ceremony. All graduates will be escorted to the pavilion area across the arena parking lot upon the conclusion of the ceremony. Family members and friends will meet their graduate at this location for gathering and photos.
