A GED (General Educational Development) credential can provide individuals greater benefits in continuing to college or success in the workplace. Students in our GED classes learn to follow multistep directions, read more complex forms and manuals, can integrate and interpret information, comprehend college level books, apply higher order thinking skills, work collaboratively in groups and are proficient in using a computer and common computer applications.

About GED Classes

Our students apply classroom learning to their preparation to take the GED test. The Southwest Texas Junior College AEL program graduates approximately 200 students per year.
