Distance Education

What is Distance Education? "Distance education is a formal educational process in which the majority of the instruction (interaction between students and instructors and among students) in a course occurs when students and instructors are not in the same place". - Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

SWTJC defines Distance Education (or Distance Learning) as any class where the physical location of the student is different from the location of the instructor. This includes Video Conference and Online classes. Distance Education courses meet the same guidelines as a traditional, face-to-face course.
