Catholic Club hosts Ash Wednesday mass
The SWTJC Catholic Club sponsored an Ash Wednesday Mass on Tuesday (Feb. 14) in the Mathew Student Center Ballroom on the Uvalde campus.
Ken Dirksen, a deacon at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Uvalde, conducted the service which involves the imposition of ashes.
He also gave a brief explanation of the 40-day Lenten season that begins with Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter. Approximately 200 students, faculty, and staff attended the service.
